A group of five cyclists on gravel bikes standing in a grassy field. The two people in the foreground are looking off to the right, away from the camera. The woman in the center wears a teal jacket and has her arms crossed. The woman to her left is wearing a green vest over a dark long-sleeve top and has a distinctive helmet cover that looks like a hat with a brim. Their bikes are muddy. In the background, three other cyclists stand with their bikes; the one on the far right is wearing a dark jacket with a reflective green vest. Trees with autumnal foliage are visible behind them.

Gravelo Halloween Edition

Up here in Northern Germany, at this time of year the weather is always a factor. We’d been checking the rain radar for signs of a let up in precipitation.

Fortune rewards patience, as yesterday (Friday the 31st) was the only day in the past week that looked like it was going to be dry.

Before we knew it, we’d donned our costumes, set-up our bikes and rolled out to meet the sixty or so riders at our local movie theater parking lot.

After a rolling start along city streets, we had left the urban sprawl and were deeply into the 100km of gravel, single-track, cobblestones, and everything in between that we had planned many weeks before.

For all of you that made it out, thank you for your trust and motivation in making the fourth annual Halloween Ronde 🎃 and second hosted 8Bar Gravelo 💯 a success.

It’s a love story 💜
